I’ve selected a few projects that illustrate my proposed approach to fulfilling the PP brief, in terms of the look, the mood and the way I’d work.
George Tomlinson School
10 Minute Film and Image Library
The brief was to make a short film and create an image library for the school. It came to mind as a way of working on the PP brief as my approach was both time and cost effective. It also contributed directly to the feel of the work.
On the recce, as well as getting used to the location, I took thousands of photographs. This had the benefit of getting the students and staff used to seeing me around the school with my cameras. The recce produced 578 edited pictures, from which I’ve uploaded a selection below.
I use the same handheld cameras for both photographs and video and pretty much work the same way in both mediums. I also recorded the sound, interviewed the subjects and edited the film.

The first project I produced shooting video alongside photographs, fortunately camera and lens stabilisation has improved significantly since.
I spent part of their day with some of Guide Dogs’ clients and supporters. I supplied a range of photographs to the agency and the creatives came up with headlines to work with their favourites.
